Based on the book by Carmen Bowman and LaVrene Norton. The authors of this household “scrapbook” share their idea for energizing household life.
Learn how household living unlocks independence and fosters interdependence. Home sets the stage for natural engagement: just start something, sing a song, bake a cake, and people come. This is normal. This is home. This is a vibrant daily life.
Households provide the opportunity for people to reclaim their lives and sit again in the driver’s seat. This workshop will provide you the opportunity to learn how to contribute to this good daily life for the people in your care.
Not in households yet? The spirit and methodology will inspire you, whether in neighborhoods or even a traditional setting. Learn to focus on transforming the institution into a homey and vibrant place where residents can experience daily life as they’ve always known it.

This workshop has approval for 6 hours of continuing education credit for administrators.
Sessions begin at 8:30am and continue until 3:30pm, and include lunch
Pricing: A single registration is $120. If sending more than one person from the same organization, registration is $99 per attendee.

Cancellations must be requested at least two weeks prior to the workshop. No refunds will be issued after that point. All refunds are subject to a 15% processing fee.
If you wish to transfer your registration to another session, you may do so at no charge, but please let us know as early as possible so we can fill your seat. Transfers in the last two weeks before the session are only allowed if an annual state survey is in progress at your facility. Substitutions (sending a different person to the session) are always accepted at no charge.
