Moderated by LaVrene Norton
of Action Pact, Inc. this video was recorded live at the Pioneer Conference held in
Chicago in August of 2002. The video features clips from frontline staff commenting on the
challenges of culture change. After each clip a panel dicussion ensues in which three
CEOs talk about how they got started in culture change and how they created three unique
long term care environments.
Steve Shields of Meadowlark Hills in Manhattan, Kansas, talks about the household
model. Steve McAlilly of United Methodist Senior Services in Mississippi describes the
new Green House initiative. Paul Mikelson of Lyngblomsten in St. Paul, Minnesota shares
their adventures in bringing the Swedish Care Model to the United States. The
presentation was well received at the conference (standing room only) so the video is
sure to make for captivating viewing by leadership and staff alike.
